Zeller Realty Group (“ZRG”) is committed to participating in our community and encouraging volunteerism and acts of selflessness by our employees. We work hard to develop a culture of giving back, using team-building activities such as packaging dry goods at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, raising money and participating annually in the American Heart Association Heart Walk, volunteering at the Catholic Charities soup kitchen through the Chicago HELP Initiative, making charitable donations to the Lurie Children’s Hospital, After School Matters and building houses for Habitat for Humanity, to name a few. Impromptu groups of employees have gathered to deliver food to the homeless on the streets of Chicago and have collected money to purchase winter socks, boots and blankets for these individuals, many of whom are veterans.
Our employees are individually involved in charities such as the Geneva Lake Conservancy, Horizons for Youth, Tutoring Chicago, Dress for Success, The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, the American Diabetes Association, the Tour de Cure benefiting diabetes, the Indianapolis Ballet, the American Heart Association, the ALS Association and T2 End AIDS, which supports the Chicago AIDS Foundation, in addition to our local BOMA Chapters, CREW Chicago and the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Many of our properties throughout the portfolio support drives and initiatives that encourage tenant participation and giving back to the community. Some charities that we support include:
Big Climb for the Cure benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days
Holiday Angel Tree benefiting the Salvation Army
VEAP “Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People”
At ZRG, our commitment to the environment and sustainability goes well beyond our recycling stations and water filters – we have achieved LEED Gold status in 53% of our total office space, another 21% is LEED Silver, and 58% of our total portfolio earned the 2014 ENERGY STAR label (3,943,587 rsf). ZRG has led the way for our tenants to reduce water waste, ditch the plastic cups for real coffee mugs and cut down on plastic water bottles by 70%. 100% of the ZRG portfolio engages in the Zeller Energy Best Practices Initiative to promote system optimization and energy efficiency improvements. By learning these habits in the office where we spend the majority of our time, these practices can permeate into our personal lives and influence others. In short, ZRG is on a mission to positively impact the environment.Zeller Realty Group and its affiliates do not discriminate on the basis of race/ethnicity, color, national origin, sex, disability, veteran status, political beliefs, religion, sexual orientation, or age in the administration of any of its employment, leasing, management or related services.
