JANICE SAVA GOLDSMITH
Senior Vice President, Portfolio Director - Design and Construction

Janice Goldsmith joined Zeller Realty Group® in 1989, and is currently Senior Vice President of Design and Construction. Goldsmith oversees and directs all construction, development, redevelopment and tenant improvement work for the ZRG portfolio. Her career spans over 25 years, concentrated in high-rise, commercial, residential, and mixed-use construction. Over the period of her career to date, Goldsmith has been involved in more than 15 million square feet of development projects, with a total project cost exceeding $2 billion.
Since joining ZRG, Goldsmith has overseen the redevelopment/modernization program for Castleton Office Park, a 1.3 million SF office park in Indianapolis, Indiana, including roofing exterior repairs and maintenance, landscaping and signage, mechanical and electrical system upgrades and replacements, and common area remodeling; redevelopment/releasing for Wells Fargo Place, a 635,000 SF office/atrium complex in St. Paul, Minnesota, including conversion of an obsolete retail shopping center to a Class A office facility; and modernization/releasing of Burnham Center, a 600,000 SF Chicago landmark. Goldsmith also completed the construction of the Franklin-Lake Self Park, a high-rise parking/retail facility and oversaw the construction management of One North Franklin, a 700,000 SF office building.
While managing the physical due diligence and redevelopment/repositioning of numerous acquisitions, she also oversaw the ongoing interior development work including the extensive modernization (e.g., asbestos abatement, life safety, sprinkler installation, etc.) and the remodeling/releasing of the 211 East Ontario Building (170,000 SF) in Chicago, and in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of the Norwest Financial Center (450,000 SF); the Waters Office Building (100,000 SF); the International Center Complex (610,000 SF); and the Highland Bank Building (60,000 SF). Goldsmith has also managed the design and construction of interior improvement work exceeding seven million SF and including office, retail, restaurant, hotel, apartment, condominium, school, bank, radio station and other uses.
Previously, Goldsmith was Assistant Vice President of Construction with Urban Investment and Development Corporation, a subsidiary of JMB Realty Corporation. Goldsmith was responsible for construction of the 900 North Michigan Avenue project, a 2.7 million SF multi-use development in Chicago, Illinois. The award winning $450 million development includes the Avenue Atrium, a 325,000 SF luxury retail mall; Bloomingdale’s Department Store; 550,000 SF of office space; a 1,400 car parking structure; a 324-room Four Seasons Hotel; and 120 luxury, custom condominiums. Prior to her involvement on the 900 North Michigan Avenue project, Goldsmith was involved in the construction of 333 West Wacker in Chicago, Illinois (1mm SF); CityPlace in Hartford, Connecticut (1mm SF); SOHIO Headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio (1.5mm SF); and the Journey into Imagination, Italian, and German Pavilions at Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida. Prior to joining Urban in 1980, Goldsmith was a Construction Manager with Romanek Golub & Company in Chicago on the Xerox Center, 444 North Michigan, LaSalle Plaza and 3 O'Hare Towers projects in Chicago. Goldsmith began her construction career in 1972 with Turner Construction Company.
Goldsmith graduated with honors from the University of Illinois-Chicago and has completed advanced studies in the University of Chicago Masters of Business Administration program.
